Educational Outreach

At the Sustainable Seas Institute, we are deeply committed to fostering the next generation of ocean stewards and scientists. A cornerstone of our educational outreach is the direct involvement of our founder, Dr. Roger Tipton, who enriches his college-level courses by integrating real-world insights from his extensive field and laboratory research. Beyond the university setting, we actively partner with local high schools, providing dynamic programs designed to introduce students to the exciting fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and cultivate a strong sense of environmental stewardship. Through these initiatives, we aim to inspire curiosity, build foundational knowledge, and empower young minds to become active participants in the preservation of our planet's aquatic environments.

Community Outreach

Beyond formal education, the Sustainable Seas Institute is dedicated to engaging the wider community through accessible and impactful outreach initiatives. We offer a variety of community educational programs, workshops, and seminars designed to raise awareness about critical freshwater and ocean issues, share the latest scientific findings, and empower individuals to take action in their daily lives. These programs provide opportunities for all ages to learn about marine and freshwater conservation, participate in local environmental projects, and connect directly with our researchers and their work, fostering a collective commitment to a sustainable aquatic future.
